I can forge and hold a strong vision and lead through good times and bad, identifying potential, qualities, skills, and resilience in the process. Sustaining purposeful and meaningful relationships is important to me, as are integrity and courtesy.
I am an effective and sensitive coach and mentor. I am an accomplished business leader, trainer and facilitator having built and led my own business over the last 15 years in post-16 education. I am an active member of regional business networks and local professional organisations.
I am knowledgeable, have travelled extensively and am culturally aware with vast experience of providing excellent customer service. I have worked in public health, the voluntary sector and social services as well as for a global company, and chaired an HIV charity.
When I found myself in a challenging position in early 2017 and facing a major restructure of the business, I considered why thriving businesses enjoy such success. The realisation that they work more on the business than in the business led to a recommendation to Brian as a coach to guide me through the many twists and turns. His insight into the individual development strategies needed really focused my attention on the areas which would make the most difference. The total trust I was able to put in him opened up a truly inspirational relationship which took me down the right paths to make the most important decisions for me and the business. His unique ability to engage at all levels really meant that I was often encouraged to step out of my comfort zone which has increased my confidence tremendously. I look forward to many more years of working alongside Brian in a mutually beneficial relationship. KATH PARKES Executive Director
I first met Brian in 2013; I am a Personal Trainer and Brian was my client, I instantly connected with him. Brian has a calming, positive and encouraging attitude that is infectious. I knew after only a few weeks of meeting Brian that he would be someone that I could trust and feel happy to just be myself around, something which rarely happens. 3 years on, I consider Brian a very close friend, someone that I can trust and no matter what, I know he will always be there to offer support. Brian has helped me to develop and understand myself, given me the confidence to open up and be myself. What sets Brian apart is his ability to listen, encourage and support people to succeed. What is obvious when meeting Brian for the first time is his genuinely caring, warm and compassionate personality. My relationship with Brian over the past 3 years has been memorable. I have created some very special memories, I truly value and feel very privileged to call Brian a friend and look forward to many more years of friendship. Thank you Brian for your continued support. I met Brian Quinn in 2003 when I joined his training company tpm, as a Childcare Tutor/Assessor. 13 years on, I am a member of the Senior Management Team, responsible for the company’s performance, child protection and safeguarding. The continuous professional development and personal achievement opportunities I’ve had have been phenomenal. As tpm’s Managing Director, Brian is a fantastic manager; he has coached and mentored me on equality & diversity, teaching and management qualifications. Brian has taught me so much about professional conduct, people management skills and how to be an effective teacher in the learning and skills sector. The relationship I have with Brian is exceptional and has been invaluable to my career progression; I would highly recommend him to anyone who wanted to improve their motivation, skills, potential or progression within their career, business or personal life. Thank you Brain for all that you do. Tammy Vickery
In 2006, I was at a crossroad in my life after a personal loss in my family. Having had to postpone emigration plans, I didn’t want to sit marking time, but knew I needed a new direction. Although my hairdressing career had been successful and varied, it was not likely to sustain me indefinitely. After speaking to Brian informally about this, he carefully and thoughtfully opened up ideas for developing my teaching skills, via a Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector. I loved being back in the classroom for the first time in 30 years, and as a result of continued coaching from Brian, I progressed through teaching and into higher education. In 2015 I graduated from the University of Wales, Bangor with a Masters Degree in Education, passing with a Merit. When I formally acknowledged Brian in my final dissertation, I realised I am again at a new crossroads. The difference now however is that I myself am a different person; my choices are based on not only my commercial and business background, but on a solid academic foundation. So from my first conversation with Brian, I now see a new career in research. I have had a research paper presented at the UFHRD conference in Manchester in the Spring of 2016, and plan to begin work on my PhD in the Summer of 2017. The relationship with Brian has been transformative, and I will be forever grateful to him. Alan Henry
